Eating a variety of foods from all food groups can help supply the nutrients a person needs as they age. A healthy eating plan emphasizes fruit, vegetables, some whole grains and dairy; includes lean meat, poultry, fish, beans, eggs and nuts; and is lower in saturated fats, trans fats, salt (sodium) and added sugars.
We always explain the importance of good nutrition to our clients and caregivers. We do not just "open a can" or processed foods full of junk, we encourage true "farm to table" whole foods.
We will come to your home and do a free assessment to make sure our services are the right fit for you. We will check for things that may make for a unsafe environment, and make recommendations to keep you/your family safe, it may be something like, stove safety/alarm covers, moving items for you that are no longer easily accessible, recommending removal of rugs to prevent falls, adding night lights to reduce the chances of falling or tripping at nighttime.
We not only strive to take care of our elderly or disabled, the family is just as important. We are here to offer emotional support, an ear, shoulder. We have made so many friends (family members) that we keep in touch with, even after services are no longer needed, another rewarding privilege for us! If there is something you need or a question you may have that is beyond our expertise, we will find the correct resources for you. You are never alone!
When we come to your home to do our homecare assessment, we will look at possible hazards that may cause falls to occur more easily, especially for those that are a high risk for falls. We can make some recommendations that may help prevent falls.
